A probabilistic framework for the estimation of resilience of process plants under Na-Tech seismic events

Abstract Industrial plants are complex structures, highly vulnerable with respect to seismic loading. Past events have demonstrated the devastating impact and huge economic losses that an industrial plant can experience not only due physical damage of equipment, but also interruption production processes. In order quantify these losses, resilience evaluation is required. The current paper presents a probabilistic process flow-based framework for assessment in case events. Uncertainties considered ability equipment withstand perturbation, recovery including durations costs. Monte Carlo Simulation used account uncertainties model. A black carbon as study show applicability Results capability proposed model shows it be useful tool decision makers, owners, insurance companies, emergency managers designers their making process.
